All presentations (Invited Talks, Mini-Symposia, Contributed Talks and Posters) at HRMS are planned as LIVE EVENTS. Our goal is to maximize exchange among participants as in regular HRMS colloquia.
Consequently, you should plan your participation as a one week, full-time event to get the most out of HRMS2021.

The conference will be held online on the MeetAnyway platform. The event-space can be found here.

The symposium will start with the opening lecture by Pascale Ehrenfreund on Sunday, August 29 at 2 pm (CEST).
Before and after this event the online platform will be available for participants to meet and greet other participants. We tried to setup the meeting platform to promote this personal exchange.

The virtual meeting rooms on the online platform MeetAnyway will be available throughout the event and you are encouraged to use them from Monday to Friday, especially before and after the sessions. In the overview schedule theses times are marked as grey shaded areas. But remember, the platform and the meeting rooms will be available also outside these hours.

3) Lectures and Talks
All talks will be given LIVE through the "screen-sharing" option within zoom, which will be the format of these presentations.
We assume, all of you are familiar with this tool. As a presenter please make sure you are ready to share your presentation at the appropriate time. You will be responsible that your presentation works. Experience in other conferences showed that this format should be preferred over collecting presentation slides and showing them as organizers.
It is important to use your pointing device to guide your audience. Chairing the session and assistance with the zoom tools (Q&A etc.) will be provided by the organizers.

3a) Invited Lectures 
Invited talks are the back-bone of HRMS and they will be given at the center time of the symposium each day, starting 2 pm (CEST). These time slots have been chosen to be most convenient to all participants.
For your convenience starting times in other time-zones are indicated in the overall schedule for orientation. A world-time converter can be used on this webpage to find the respective times in your time-zone.
Invited talks are all 45 minutes (including 10 minutes discussion).

3b) Mini-Symposia Lectures
Three mini-symposia are organized on High-Precisions Spectroscopy, Laboratory Astrophysics and Spectroscopy as well as on Environmental and Atmospheric Spectroscopy. They are highlighted as blue shaded areas in the program.
Talks within the mini-symposia are all 30 minutes (including 5-10 minutes discussion).

3c) Contributed Talks
As in previous HRMS colloquia three parallel sessions (shaded in pink color) are reserved for contributed LIVE talks. These talks have been selected from a large number of contributions.
The contributed talks are all 15 minutes (including 3 minutes discussion).

Most speakers are comfortable speaking in any typical public setting. However, things can be a little bit different in a virtual meeting context.

Before the meeting
Good preparation will prevent 90% of the potential hiccups you may run into during a virtual meeting.

• Tool: Make sure you are comfortable with the conference tool (Zoom) you will be using. Download and install the Zoom Client on your device: https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting
• Test Run: Participate in one of the test runs. Learn how to mute yourself, display or not your camera, and share your presentation.
• Audio/Video: Ensure that your computer audio and video are working: This means that you hear the sound, your microphone is capturing your voice, and your camera can film you properly when using the conference tool. Headsets normally provides better sound quality than inbuilt microphones and loudspeakers.
• Practice: Practice makes perfect. Run your entire session from the beginning to the end incl. Q&A session and record it. Watch your presentation and note thinks that can be improved. Respect the given time.
• Position: Check how you look on camera. You want to ensure your light is neither too dark nor too light – the audience wants to see you. Speak straight to your camera.
• Surrounding: Pick a quiet place. A place where you know you won’t be disturbed during the meeting, and where you can’t hear other noises that could compromise the quality of your presentation. Make sure that there is nothing inappropriate appearing in your surroundings. (for example, private photos on a shelf, etc.).
• Clothes: Plan ahead the clothes you will be wearing during the meeting. Working from home doesn’t prevent us from dressing appropriately for an important talk.

During the meeting

• Close the door, windows and make sure you won’t be disturbed.
• Keep a small bottle of water next to you.
• Switch your laptop to "Do not disturb" mode (on Mac or on PC).
• When you are not presenting, make sure that you mute yourself and deactivate the screen sharing. Stop your camera too.
• If anything fails, wait to receive some instructions from the operator. Don’t panic, they are used to recovering from potential connectivity or software problems.

Also Poster presenters will meet their audience online LIVE in dedicated poster-presentation rooms within the online platform MeetAnyways.

The poster presentations are another back-bone and traditional format of HRMS. Meeting the audience and discussions with colleagues despite the pandemic conditions is at the heart of our planning.
Guided by good and bad experiences in previous online events we ask presenters to prepare a 3 minute teaser videos of their poster presentation. More information on how to prepare the teaser video can also be found on this site as well.
These videos will be available as soon as the videos are uploaded and the program is ready to be visited on the online platform (login required).
This gives participants the chance to view the program in advance both on the website and in addition on the online platform.

The teaser videos allow visitors of the posters to watch a summary of the poster content in advance and in addition to the abstract information, which is also available online.
Poster presenters from areas with unfavorable time-zones will be "present" through their video.
Poster session 1 and 2 are scheduled once in the morning and once in the afternoon (CEST) such that at least one time slot is favorable for presenters from any time-zone. Please remember that the actual poster presentation is planned to be LIVE on the online platform.
Experience shows that an online live poster presentation works best when you prepare the content of your poster as individual slides and you might want to build this presentation starting with the slides for your teaser video clip.

As a poster presenter you are asked to prepare a short video of max 3min showing 3 to 5 slides. You will get the link to upload the video after your poster was accepted.

Guidelines for the short video presentation:

• The first slide should provide basic information about the project such as title, presenter and affiliation as well as an introduction explaining the challenge.
• In the middle part of the presentation you should explain the approach and present your results.
• On the last slide you should show the conclusion.
• Make sure that your video is no longer than 3min.

One (of many options) is to record your presentation with the Zoom App. Repeat the presentation until you are happy with the result. If you like, you can edit and enrich the video with e.g. music, special effects, intro and end titles, using a video editing software. However, post-editing is not mandatory.
